I have three postcards from Sri Lanka. One is really old. It was sent in 1964. It shows a hotel in Dehiwala Mount-Lavinia, a town located a few kilometers to the south of Colombo. Surprisingly, the name of the hotel is… Mount-Lavinia and it still exists and works quite efficiently. The price for a night is about 100 euros, so it is not cheap.
Two other postcards were bought by me. And they are not so special I would love them to be. I bought them in a hurry, at the airport, leaving Sri Lanka. I chose only two to just have something as a souvenir. How come if I spent two weeks there?
Firstly, we were in less tourist spots. Thanks god! But on the other hand, there was no postcards at all. Yes, NO postcards. Secondly, when we were in tourist attraction area, we tried to avoid street sellers, because they were too annoying and we were acting like having tunnel vision. But now I am left with only two bought postcards. I need to go there again! With a pleasure, eh...
